The techniques and examples in MySQL Cookbook, Third Edition, are based on two software distributions that contain scripts, sample data, and support files. Each distribution is available as a tar file or a ZIP file.
recipesdistribution is the main distribution. It contains more than 600 files, but most of them are quite small, so the overall size of the distribution is modest.
mcb-kjvdistribution is used for the KJV
FULLTEXTexamples discussed in the book.
mysql-sessiondistribution, which you can download here:

If you have the second edition of MySQL Cookbook, be warned that the PHP and Python library files in the third edition have the same names as in the first edition, but are incompatible with them. If you use any PHP or Python scripts that depend on the second edition library files, they will break if you install the third edition library files on top of them. Use the following procedure to prevent this from happening for the PHP files. (A similar procedure applies for the Python files.)
% cp Cookbook.php Cookbook2.php % cp Cookbook_Utils.php Cookbook_Utils2.php % cp Cookbook_Webutils.php Cookbook_Webutils2.php % cp Cookbook_Session.php Cookbook_Session2.php
Now you can install the third edition library files on top of the second edition files that have the same names. PHP scripts from the third edition will use these new library files, and old scripts should continue to work correctly.
