The techniques and examples in MySQL Cookbook are based on two software distributions that contain scripts, sample data, and support files. Both distributions are available as a tar file or a ZIP file.
recipes distribution is the main distribution.
It contains more than 700 files, but most of them are quite small, so the
overall size of the distribution is modest.
mcb-kjv distribution is used for
the KJV FULLTEXT examples discussed in the book.
Most of the baseball-related examples in the recipes distribution
are based on the database available from The Baseball Archive.
Visit
The Baseball Archive
for more information.
Note:
The examples in the book are based on version 4.5 of the baseball
database.
The current version of the database is 5.0, which uses table structures
that differ from the tables in version 4.5.
The information in the mcb-kjv distribution is derived from the
King James Version available from the Unbound Bible project at Biola University.
